At NMG, I get a lot of emails from people looking for a Baidu pay per click (PPC) management service. That's great, Baidu has a great system and it's the most popular search engine in China. I would recommend it for many clients, but for some, I would actually recommend using Google first.
Baidu's keyword research tool, like almost all Baidu products, is an attempt to copy Google. That is, it works a lot like Google's keyword research tool, but still leaves out at least one important feature.
If you are planning to expand you web presence to the Chinese market, running a Chinese pay per click campaign is an excellent way to get started. With pay per click you can quickly gain traffic and get valuable information on the performance and potential profitability of your website. Baidu Analytics is Baidu's answer to Google Analytics. It can be used to track stats for your website, even if your website is written in English. It's a great tool when used together with a Baidu pay per click campaign.
It can show you reports on your website's content, traffic sources including search engines and referring websites. It can also show you data on your visitors such as the city or country they accessed your website from as well as several other basic visitor stats.
Baidu's "Aladdin" is a platform that accepts data in XML form for display above Baidu's normal search results. This is an excellent tool for Baidu search engine optimization for websites that have authoritative data on certain subjects.

There were about 37 billion dollars worth of online transactions in China in 2009, double the amount spent in 2008. That number is only going to go up, and will most likely continue to rise by an astounding rate each year. If you think that you might have something to sell to some of the 400 million Chinese Internet users, one of the fastest and cheapest ways to test the market is to have the key content of your website translated, and then start a Chinese pay per click campaign. Baidu is China's most popular search engine, with about two-thirds of the Chinese market. This means anybody marking to the 400 million or so Chinese Internet users should at least get a primer on Baidu SEO. Here are five quick tips:
1) Baidu places more emphasis on the quantity of links and less on the quality of links. This makes the SEO job simpler, although keep in mind that it is simpler for all SEOs so if you are in a niche in which you are competing with other professional SEOs, be prepared to build a lot more links that you would need for Google.
